Mr. Akyol is a columnist for two Turkish newspapers, Hurriyet Daily News and Star. His articles have also appeared in Foreign Affairs, Newsweek, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, International New York Times, and many other journals and newspapers. He is the author of Islam Without Extremes. He studied political science and history at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, where he still lives.
