Black History Month 2011 – Missouri

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The Niagara Foundation in Missouri hosted a luncheon forum on February, 24, 2011 to commemorate Black History Month where Congressman William Lacy Clay was the keynote speaker. Congressman Clay talked about the contributions of African Americans to this great nation and the long and hard journey of African-Americans from civil rights movements to this day where US has an African-American president, President Obama. Congressman Clay also talked about his father, William Lacy (Bill) Clay, Sr., who was the first African-American Representative from Missouri.
