Sunday was World Tourism Day!

Every year, United Nations’ World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27. The day aims to promote tourism and to raise awareness about its value and importance in its social, political and economic presence.

Many organizations, government, and tourism businesses mark this occasion by various activities and events. In order to promote tourism, different types of competitions (i.e. photo competitions) are organized engaging people. Also, places of tourism interest have free entries, discounts, special offers and other interesting promotions. Governments and community leaders may announce special offers of city tours to promote regions and World Tourism Day.
