Chicago Symphony Orchestra Saluting Niagara Foundation

Niagara is celebrating its 10th year! Starting as an office of three people in a basement in Des Plaines, Illinois, Niagara has steadily grown into a twenty-two-branch organization in nine Midwestern states. Through ten years of hospitality, enrichment, and leadership, we have reached out to many communities and created lasting relationships.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary and the valued support of our friends, we are planning a variety of outreach events leading up to a celebratory 10th Anniversary Gala in December. The goals of the 10th anniversary campaign are to introduce more people to Niagara, reflect on our accomplishments, and discuss how to proceed to best continue sustainable growth for years to come.

The kickoff for the anniversary campaign will be a performance by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on May 15th. During the months between the kickoff and the gala, our campaign committee members will host receptions in honor of Niagara. The 10th Anniversary Gala will be the culmination of all these events. It will be celebrated in conjunction with the Peace and Dialogue Awards, and a nationally-known keynote speaker will be one of the main highlights of the evening. We are hoping to have 1,000 people join us for dinner and discussion at the gala, which will be at the Hilton Hotel on Michigan Ave. on December 4, 2014.

The kickoff event that will set the 10th Anniversary Campaign into motion is quickly approaching. Niagara is looking forward to this opportunity to celebrate our affiliation with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The CSO is saluting the Niagara Foundation on our 10th year anniversary with a performance led by Acclaimed Dutch conductor Edo de Waart. The performance will be held in the beautiful Grainger Ballroom and will consist of a program devoted to Richard Strauss’s work. This exciting event will be a memorable start to what is sure to be months of building new relationships, reaching out to different communities, and bringing Niagara’s supporters together for conversation and celebration. WFMT is generously promoting Niagara’s anniversary and the kickoff concert on-air in the days leading up to the concert.

While the concert is reserved for committee members who have pledged to support Niagara in a variety of ways including hosting the receptions that precede the 10th Anniversary Gala, we would love for more people to join us in other ways to celebrate our 10th year anniversary and future programs. We are looking for people to serve as community ambassadors by becoming a part of our Niagara Blue Dot Network and attending the gala in December. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Eleanor Peck, our Communications Director, at [email protected].
