Niagara Foundation  organized a remarkable Niagara Forum with Margaret Raymond, Fred W. & Vi Miller Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The topic was entitled “Lawyers and Legal Education in the 21st Century

Senator Nikiya Harris D– Milwaukee) was sworn in on Monday, January 7 as a member of the 2013-2014 Wisconsin Legislature. Ms. Harris replaces former Senator Spencer Coggs, who left the seat to run successfully for City of Milwaukee Treasurer.

Senator Nikiya Harris is a Milwaukee Native who cares deeply for the needs of her family and community.  After her loss of her mother over ten years ago, Nikiya raised three of her younger siblings herself, determined to keep them out of the foster care system.  A former Milwaukee County Supervisor, Senator Harris graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee with a bachelor’s degree in community education and a master’s in adult education. She serves in several committees including Education committee.
