By the fall of 2005 she had joined UMMA’s Board of Directors as the Vice President leading the organization in non-profit development and strategic growth. At that time, she was also the Director of Youth Leadership and Development Programs at the YWCA Lake County. With the YWCA Lake County, she spearheaded the development of all youth programming, generated over 150K in grant funding and served over 500 ‘at-risk’ girls between the ages of 9-19 in Lake County, IL. In 2007, she began working with UMMA as a consultant in a part time capacity to continue the growth and expansion of UMMA’s mission. In April 2012, she assumed a full time role at UMMA as the Director of Business Development & Marketing. Her passion for service and her vast knowledge and experience in the corporate and non-profit sector made her an easy fit. UMMA has shown exponential growth in all
areas of development and service. UMMA has served over 24,685 unduplicated people living in Lake County and Chicago-land since its inception in 2004. Arshia holds her Honors B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and her M.A in Transformational Leadership & Coaching from the Wright Graduate University for the Realization of Human Potential. She is certified to lead and educate in Social-Emotional Intelligence, Life & Executive Coaching and Transformational Leadership.
