Today is World Development Information Day

This Saturday, October 24 is World Development Information Day, which was instituted on this day in 1972 by the United Nations. The date was selected to parallel United Nations Day to further promote the significance of international development, and spread awareness about the diverse issues that developing nations are facing. With the recognition of the importance of global development, the United Nations hopes to foster greater international cooperation and work towards improving the economic stability and strength of less developed countries. Over the last few years, there has been special attention paid to spreading and advancing technology in developing nations, and encouraging youth to participate in the movement by helping increase the global economy with technology and its unlimited functions.
