Patrick (PJ) Cannon, Jr. is a Chicago native who was born into a working-class Christian family. Always influenced by religion, he was inspired by stories about Jesus and His miracles, but he never felt like he belonged to his parents’ congregation. While he was looking for a spiritual home, he founded Rasta Radio, a streaming reggae station inspired by the music of Bob Marley. But it wasn’t until several months later that he interacted with the indigenous people on a visit to Jamaica, participating in drumming and singing circles, immediately falling in love with their way of life. He found that his spirit identified with Rastafarian consciousness, righteousness, positive vibes, and Inity (unity). PJ has since merged his spiritual beliefs with his passion for media. Along with Rasta Radio, PJ also co-manages a local recording artist named DLow, including social media, marketing, and business partnerships. PJ utilizes every opportunity to spread the word and example of Jah.
