State legislators to host Intercultural Reception with Turkic communities at the Illinois Capitol

(May 21, 2013 SPRINGFIELD) – Turkic communities in Illinois are bringing a taste of their diverse and vibrant cultures to the office of Secretary of State Jesse White.

The Intercultural Reception at the State Capitol is an opportunity for politicians and the public to explore the tastes, sights and sounds of Turkey, Bosnia, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan — all without having to purchase an international plane ticket!
This annual event is hosted by the Joint Legislative Task force on Illinois-Turkish relations. Distinguished speakers include: Illinois’ Secretary of State Jesse White, Senate President John Cullerton, and Speaker of the House Michael Madigan.
