EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
We are pleased to invite Consul-General Fatih Yildiz speaks about Turkey’s post-Cold War approach to foreign policy. Turkey’s pre-Cold War foreign policy was limited to reacting to international crises, but the current government has formed a proactive approach. Turkey is more visible in international forums, and it has become a key mediator in the region.
Mr. Yildiz believes this new approach will boost Turkey’s influence throughout the world. At the end, he answers questions from the audience.

Upon graduating from Middle East Technical University in Ankara (1994), Mr. Fatih Yıldız joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) where he served as Attache to the Deputy Directorate for Balkan Affairs from ’94-’97.
He has since served various posts including the Turkish Embassy in Sarajevo, the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the and the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C. In September 2010, Mr. Yidiz took the honorable position as Consul General of Turkey in Chicago where he currently lives with his wife and daughter.
