Julius Crump is a doctoral candidate at the University of Chicago Divinity School. He recently assisted Peter J. Paris with editing African American Theological Ethics: A Reader (Westminster John Knox Press, January 2016). He has taught at two schools in Chicagoland, Lake Forest College and Dominican University. His research interests are in the social and theological problems of evil, African American religious thought and political liberalism. He is currently completing his dissertation on the relevance of the public-private distinction for modern religious discourses.
