Rabbi Seth Limmer, Senior Rabbi of Chicago Sinai Congregation
- Born in Rochester, New York and raised in Great Neck, Long Island where he attended public schools.
- Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Cornell University, Magna cum Laude. Thesis, “The Holocaust as a Problem for Philosophical Thought: On Emil Fackenheim and Immanuel Kant”.
- Master of Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
- During his school years, he served as the rabbinic intern at Congregation Rodeph Sholom on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
- Ordination, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. “Know What to Respond: An Analysis of Rabbinic Lore and Law Regarding Responding to the Other”.
- Ph.D. in Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Dissertation, “The Rabbis as Readers”.
- Married to Molly, who is a member of Chicago Regional Office of Christe’s Auction House as Vice President of Business Development. They have two daughters, Rosey Esther and Lily Benjamin.
