Intercultural Reception at Michigan State Capitol

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The event provided the opportunity for the diverse ethnic, cultural and religious communities to come together with the elected officials to cultivate friendship, celebrate diversity, strengthen dialog and deepen intercultural awareness. Senator Gretchen Whitmer, Representatives Ed Clemente and  Tom Pearce welcomed the guests on behalf of the hosting committee, which was comprised of twenty legislators, and emphasized the importance of intercultural and interfaith dialog and pointed out Niagara Foundation’s contributions to that.This event was co-sponsored by the Turkish American Society of Michigan.

More than 150 guests enjoyed the Mediterranean lunch served and engaged in conversations with each other. This event provided an opportunity to talk about how we all can cooperate to better our community.
